Ian is correct but I would also add that some commercial contracts may need to be 'witnessed', especially if the contract will be in a form of a deed. A deed will need to be formed where the agreement will lack in 'legal consideration' and that is anything of sufficient value i.e. advance payment, deposit, etc which will bind both parties rather than just being a mere exchange of promise, which can be problematic to enforce.
It depends very much on the nature of your work and what kind of agreement you are seeking.
Ian's point is a statutory one where transfer of ownership of a property must be in the form of a deed.
