Asking to leave a store after doing nothing wrong - 18-01-2008, 12:45 PM

OK here is the story, I have a friend that works in a post office we regularly meet up for coffee over the past 4 months so not a short term thing and as her break are all over the place I normal pop in to see what’s going on.

Now the last week she stepped this up, for what reason I am not sure other than the I am like as meets and greets with a kiss, as well as a goodbye.

I met her on the Friday for 2 hours as she was not working, to which she asked if I was working I said now and she mentioned to me that her breaks was at 10 and 2.30 she things, so I popped is all was ok. I saw her again on the Monday, Tues I was working away and on Wed I had a chance to see her but she replied that she was busy so I did not attend on this day.

Her SMS said “Wayne I am sorry but I have made plans for my break. I going to meet my friend I havent seen long. Sorry and would be nice if u can make it tomorrow. X”.

I replied something like “ I am not sure as I don’t know where I was working wayne.”

So the following day I was told I was on standby, and so I thought I would pop in as I was invited to visit my female friend. As it turns out when I spoke the breaks had not been arranged so she did no know, and she asked me what was my plans I told her I was on standby, and that. I asked when you think between 11-12 she agreed. I think so.

So I then shop around the town and I did pop in to see if she knew but she was always busy and did not approach her, I was only in the main store.

About 12.30 I was asked by the Manager Can I help you (ME) I said I was just waiting for my friend to finish for there lunch. I was asked would you mind waiting out side though I was shopping there anyway. To which I did.

Then I saw the security guard and asked what was going on and there was a statement that I had harassed this person whom was in the store, which I was clearly unaware of, so I called the HQ, and they said something that I was not know along with a lot of other things which to be fair came as a shock to say the least.

So then I was told I could not go into the store… I have not had a chance to speak with my friend and it seems out of context to be honest.

My point is I was invite to which I have proof of, but more to the point I have been barred from using the store and the post office, to the extent that I feel I am being victimized, due to the fact my friend had the opportune moment to say I can’t see you today when I spoke to them at the counter first thing. I did not give any reason for this other than that, there statement does not make any sense at all.

Please also note I am not into harassing this person I clearly was not aware that there was a problem at hand. I just think that it could have been handled better. Since if I am not aware and I was invited to visit this person, is there good reason to think that the powers of management have misused there powers, for something that is clearly not true. Since this could be down to racial hate, which I think is a serious matter.

If this was a issue that was causing a inconvenience, this I am sure there is a better solution to the matter, and asking me to wait outside does not really prevent me from seeing her so to speak. I understand it there property, but surely there needs to be a valid reason for doing such.

I am more annoyed that I can not go into my local store now, for what seems for nothing!

Are you still talking to your friend who works in the post office?

Do you know who has made the harassment claim?

Wayne, from previous experience i would advise that honesty is the best policy in these cases.

From what you have said there appears to be bits missing.
