Business After You Have Gone - 30-08-2007, 03:13 PM

I am the owner of an Estate Planning company and I am looking for a little help. I wonder how many people who own businesses have made plans for what happens to their business when they die?

Is the business included in your will?

Do you have a will?

Do you know which of the business assets would be subject to inheritance tax and which would not?

Do you have articles of association and do they cover selling your shares if you die?

Would your business partners be able to afford to buy your shares in the business?

I am try to research this area as a potential extension to my business, we have already done some work in this area for a number of small companies but we are considering expanding this part of our business.

Any views much appreciated.
