childs right to property -
09-09-2007, 08:06 PM
Hi
Some time ago my ex partner and our child moved out of my property by mutual agreement. Part of the agreement was that our child was provided for in the event of me selling the house before my death. The agreement was that our daughter would recieve 50% of any profit i made on the property. I'm not sure how to go about making this status legal or even if its possible as she is only 6 at present. The reason she wanted this agreement was to ensure that any future partner i had living with me would not become entitled to a share of any profits made on a sale, which is understandable. Any help much appreciated. thanks, mark |

You would need to create a trust for the child to benefit in your life time and in your will, again on trust for after your death until she was 18. Not a difficult job, just email us or take advice from your local solicitor on dealing with this.
