Garden Leave - My Rights - 03-07-2007, 12:54 PM

I was recently put on gardening leave bymy employer when I resigned as I had high level systems access. Part of my benefits was broadband provided by the company for when I was on call. I was on call 1 week in 4 and this was then paid to me in the following pay packet. Whilst on garden leave they cut off my broadband, and I didn't perform on call as they didn't require me too.

Do I have any rights to claim compensation for my broadband being cut off and and right to claim an oncall payment?

Thanks for your help.

I suspect that you have misconceived the purpose of 'garden leave'

I understood that all my benefits would remain in place whilst on gardening leave??

You resigned. This seems to indicate to me that you are no longer eligable to any priveliges or benefits. If you were not on call there was no reason for them to pay for your internet access.

Where did you obtain that 'understanding', and does that understanding derive from the contract or any policies of your employer?

Why is the broadband disconnection such a loss or an issue?
