guarantor problem - 11-06-2008, 07:39 AM

I signed a rental agreement as guarantor for my son's rent how can I remove myself from this contract.

I'm not sure you can without renegotiating the contract. And that needs the agreement of all parties: landlord, your son and yourself.

Normally you cannot remove yourself as it is not in the best interests of the landlord. It is worth seeing if your son's income has now improved to the point the landlord will be happy to release you but the decision is the landlords.
