Is it legal?

I currently bought a Sony PSP from a retailer here in the UK.
I didn't notice anything unusual on the box but after further examination at home i noticed that it clearly states that it is 'FOR SALE IN JAPAN ONLY'.Are such imports legal?
Thanks
Eli

There is a huge market in grey imports for gaming machines with the Nintendo Wii being the latest to hit the shores in both authorised and unauthorised form.

It is legal to buy these grey imports but if you have a warranty problem the manufacturer may not always be helpful.

Basically yes - at lot of those stickers are just manufactor's policies.

Sometimes goods are however restricted by specific legislation such as pharmaceuticals etc.
