A Legal Question Regarding Domain Names
05-12-2007, 10:16 PM

Hi Pals,

Excuse me, do you just know if it is ok to use an already registered company name in a domain name combination form, but for a Different web purpose and usage?

For example, suppose the domain name sonybooksmotorsplanes.com be available, of course the name is imaginary, and assume you are going to create the website and sell books.

As the term sony is included in the domain name, will it create a problem for the domain name owner in the future? Please note that the website will not be selling electronics like what Sony does and so the business is completely different as I still do not have a clear vision over this matter yet.

Thanks so much.

Sony will get you or any of the brand owners - it's not worth it IMHO
