Question Salary unpaid
15-05-2007, 02:29 PM

Hello,

I apologize if it's not the right place to ask the question or if the answer is on your forum already.

One of my friend has been working in a gym for few month (5 I think) and quit the job recently. The owner of the gym doesn't want to pay her the last 5 weeks of her work, around £1700. What is the legal procedure to be paid? What documents / proof are needed?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Olivier

Your friend needs to issue proceedings in the County Court for the unpaid wages. It would be sensible to write to the employer to give them formal notice to pay and failure to comply, your friend can issue proceedings. Contract would be good proof
