Hi All, Yet another new member who is impressed by the support offered to each other.

I am trying to understand if there is any legal stance I can take against a competitor who is ringing my existing customer base and advising that I have made all my sales staff redundant and that I am having difficulties providing stock which people have paid for. (Ironically this company has just gone into & come out of receivership for that exact reason).

My customers are obviously nervous and I want to know i there is any approach I can make to the competitor directly to advise that if they persist I will take action. Question is, would I have a case if they continued?

Some of my loyal customers have advised they would be willing to provide statements as to the conversation they have had.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Austin

Trading standards is your friend. They take a dim view of this sort of practice and fraudulent claims can get them shut down.

Make sure your operation is squeeky clean though!

Just to clarify - I have not made any staff redundant and have no supply issues.

Fisicx - Thanks for the advice. We are squeaky clean, so no issues involving Trading standards.
