I need some advice ,im sorry if this is not the place to ask but I dont seem to be able to find any advice on this issue.

My family (wife and daughter ) have signed a tennacy for a house in which we are to move into in 7 days time, we have given notice to our landlord and he now has new people moving in in 7 days time.

Today we had a phone call from our estate agent which has arranged the new tenancy for our new home saying that the new landlords have decided not to rent to us because we are not part of there church.

This is in effect going to leave us homeless for a period of time, as we go through the credit checks and the searching for a nother home.

What i wish to know if anyone can help on this is , can a landlord refuse to rent a property on the basis that im not part of there church , and is there anything I can do about it.

many thanks in advance
