Time limit to sue?
09-12-2007, 01:41 PM

Hi, love your forum!

Can someone tell me whether there is a time limit to sue someone who didn't do his job properly for 3 years despite being paid for it regularly? This has brought a lot of trouble upon me eventually but at that time I was ill and relying on this professional's services who didn't deliver. Six years have passed since and I was wondering whether I still have a case or not.

Thank you in advance!

The time limits on negligence run in accordance with the Limitation Act 1980 from the date of negligence or the date you suffered loss. This can be complicated to assess so you need to take legal advice as soon as possible. Have a look at http://www.limeone.com/home/Do_I_have_a_Case?
