Title Copyright? -
12-02-2007, 12:23 PM
I have been developing an online game for my company under the working title "Pac-Mini". It is a car insurance company, so the game is car insurance related and loosely based around the original "Pac-Man" game.
The graphics and gameplay involved are, I have been told, different enough to not be a problem. What does concern me however is the name "Pac-Mini". I know computer games companies can be pretty stringent about use of their materials / titles, but is it really possible that simply the use of the word "pac" could be a problem? Any help would be most appreciated. |

Hi
Pac-Man is a registered trademark of Namco. Not sure if using 'Pac' would infringe but I'd think it would be safe to say that it would - if doing a PanMan-style game. Best consult a copyright/IP lawyer. Promocialise!™ your business on UK Business Labs Forum |
