Hi

HAs anyone tried this and if so are there any companies that do it?

I've considered cars but I've seen loads and loads of Vans and Trucks without any adverts on the rear. something like the picture below I think may help me generate new customers, what are your thoughts please?

Cheers Lisa

It's an excellent idea but how would it work in practice as you can hardly flag down every van that you see to get the owners details and if you advertised for van owners how would you know that they had stuck your advert on their van once your money was safe in their pockets.

Ian, I fully understand your points. I'm wondering if there is a company that does it. I'm not even sure how much it would cost per vehicle.

Some of my friends have said they'll put them on the back of their own cars, do you reckon they would then need business insurance?

there's a company that organises the ads on the side of london black cabs

dont know who they are but they may be one point of call - cabbies

(and reverse your ad - put at top the offer and at the bottom the call to action - you'll get a better response)

I can't see why they would need business insurance for carrying an ad on the back of their car. I already carry two ads on the back of my car - one is a small sticker in the rear window advertising the garage that I bought the car from and the second is the number plate which also carries the garage's "advert"

i think its a great idea.

ive dealt with a business in australia that actually takes peoples whole cars and signwrites them with advertisers. the car driver gets free petrol and insurance, and the advertiser gets good exposure. the man in middle makes a buck or two.

i wonder how many people would pocket a few pounds for displaying a bumper sticker instead of spending a few pounds.

Hi Lisa,

It's a great idea but if your ad is going to appear on moving traffic I think the actually ad itself needs some work?

Stick to plainer fonts and bolder colours (avoiding pastels etc) - maybe think about inverting the colour scheme so you have white writing on a block of colour?

You won't need any expensive designers or packages to do this, just a few hours to experiment on your PC at home. Try out a few designs and get friends and family to give input etc. Don't be swayed by trying to make something look too 'pretty' - look for something bold and impactive. Use the three-second rule (you've got three seconds to get a person's attention and make your statement).

Sorry if I sound critical! You've got a good idea that could become GREAT! Hope that helps!

Thanks Misty.

Its something I would like to do, the amount of 'white vans' kicking about the roads.

I constantly get stuck behind them in queues!

Cheers
