Do You Blog or use Article Marketing or Both? - 14-02-2008, 05:05 PM

Do You Blog or use Article Marketing or Both?

This is a question I've seen in other forums, and I've concluded it's a good idea to do both. I have a blog hosted on my own domain. I started with Google's Blogger, but wanted control over it, so my blog was moved for me. Now it's a part of my website, and that good for the search engines looking for content.

Article Marketing is also good for content, so I do that as well. I really like being able to add value by posting an article about relevant issues facing online network marketers. A good many of us here have a home based small business, so I like to share what I can.

I blog and article market.

Best Regards,

Automatic

I am also interested in hearing about article marketing.

I would welcome any advice and will watch this thread with interest.

I have someone that helps out with articles for me and posts them (for a fee) on my blog directly. Its that person and me (who mainly talks about upcoming events and the such) and its done wonders to help get my site caught up. I am also working to do some paid ad work since right now the freebie deals are not working out so well.

I use both.

Like you, our blog is built into our site (http://www.curved-vision.co.uk/presentation-skills-blog) but I use articles in other places too. Generating that amount of content can be time-consuming though, so I've developed a system (ahem!). I write a fortnightly column which is emailed out to a few thousand local businesses but that stuff isn't kept online anywhere so a week later the stuff gets re-cycled as an article which goes to other blogging sites and so on.

Occationally I get around to writing articles for direct use, too. I'm not sure that they all have much effect to be honest - certainly there's not evidence of a huge surge of traffic following publication etc.

Simon
