...I am considering purchasing (from www.electricmarketing.co.uk) a list of email addresses for marketing purposes.

A couple of questions: -

1. We are a small firm of accountants. Will this be an effective way of selling smaller services such as payroll, book keeping etc?

2. Have other used these services (eith from Electronic Marketing) or others? And how effective have these been?

Personally I own a web hosting services company and although I've been trying out several methods of Internet marketing, I've never sent a mass email promoting my business because even some very good looking and honest email marketing companies have in the past been knowned for sending emails to people who never asked for such an email. I am not saying all companies do this, but I prefer to market my website/business using search engine marketing methods.

The company you mention seems legitimate. First time I hear about them though.
