Bizal,

Thank you for your reply.
Do you have any suggestion on sales and marketing strategy as the ideas I've had don't seem to work at all.

Hi Justin,

The reason I suggested a change in the website address (not the company name) mainly because the current one is not memorable enough. I know you intended it to be read as two words “Baize Ltd”, however it could be read as “Baizel td” etc meaning nothing. Don’t forget that you are trying to reach a global audience with your business. Therefore something simple, memorable, key word related would help your cause.

Your question re “brand”. Ask yourself, for example, why Harrods charge much more than other shops for the same product and get away with it. That is the power of brand for you. The other famous brands I could think of are Coca Cola, IBM and Microsoft. Creating a brand and its related values takes a lot of planning and effort. But all of us need to start somewhere so do not get discouraged.

Moreover, have you ever thought about talking to your local Business Link branch? They should be able to give you some advice face to face. In the meantime, take a look at the following link (you need to register) for some useful guides:

As for advertising mediums, your Yellow Pages, Yell.com etc is not working for you because the advertisements are not designed properly or targeted at the wrong people. As I mentioned to you before, you need to get your business strategy (including sales and marketing) sorted-out first.

Regards,

Joel

You definately need to follow the url advice - ok, our name teneric is not that good either but it is different and memorable - it needs to be distinct

For your plan you need to understand who your customers are and what you are going to offer them - easy huh !

Write down on a piece of paper exactly who your typical customer might be:
- age
- sex
- social background
- disposal income
- likes/ dislikes

then you can get into the mindset of this person

Now you understand them - what are their wants and needs ? For snooker of course - thru the mindset - don't jump to conclusions though

Think about this and then you may have a product to sell them

How you sell is the next instalment I think - do the above first.
