Help needed

Hey all,

I am attempting to start up a busines ofering a range of services to residential customers.
My busines will primarily deal with telephone socket installation and repair, and on a less prominent scale, deal with pc repair, wireless network installation and wireless cctv/burglar alarms.

I attempted to start the business with a low budget, advertising in a free newspaper, leaflet dropping a local housing estate (100/150 houses) and through word of mouth.

At present I have had no response and would appreciate the help of the more experienced.

I think you have chosen a poor service to offer. I would suggest the market for such services is very small. Most people can DIY additional sockets, wirless and cordless phones make additional sockets redundant.

PC fixing has a little more potential but the market is very overcrowded and competitive.

If you want to push on, try networking rather than arms length marketing. For small businesses - Go to chamber meeting /events, Business link and other business events and network. Get your self known. Even give a short presentation on why you can help businesses avoid problems.
