Smile Ideas please - slimming club - 02-11-2006, 09:56 PM

Hi,
I've been reading through the posts here and have got lots of ideas, thanks.

I have started a slimming club locally. I am ticking over at the moment, but know January will be the time I can potentially gain a large number of new members, I really want speedweigh to be 'heard of' by then.

Have put the usual posters up, editorials in local magazine etc, just wondering if anyone had any brilliant suggestions as to what else I could do this side of Christmas to make my name known,
Thanks in advance

Jo

Hi,

I guess everyone wants to shed a few pounds after Christmas... LOL

I don't know much about slimming clubs, but how about distributing special discount vouchers by hand/post in your local area. Maybe you could offer the first few visits free.

Maybe people don't like to go to these things alone so you could offer "join as a group to get a discount offer" or some sort of "refer a friend" bonus.

There's a couple anyway, and good luck!

Cheers,
Ender.

Expanding on Ender's idea, what about join with a friend, and only pay one join-up fee. Join with two or ten freinds and still only pay one join-up free....

I've never seen that advertised, but Ender is right, going along to a slimming place can be daunting, so taking a friend and it not costing more, would be great.

Small leaflets in places where a lot of overweight people go, be really direct.

Chip shop, Kebab shop, pizza places etc etc. Seriously.

Also, why not try and build links with local gyms, council or private. Even if you only manage to get a poster up, then you'll be communicating with an audience that will likely include people who are seeking to lose weight.

Maybe try local schools aswell.

Good luck.

Jo,

2 things.

The best brochure you could possibly have is the people attending your class. Ask for their help in promoting you with as already said a 2 for 1 or loyal based card scheme in a credit card format. come 4 times times 5 time free, or whenever they usually die off and stop coming keep them motivated to come back.

Keep a list of old clients and hit them at the right time via email. summertime, holidays after Christmas, try to contact them with a simple newsletter every quarter. Fill it with special offers, do joint ventures with fitness people like gyms and offer discounted memberships in return for their clients. The list goes on.

Oh my god how exciting is marketing I just love it so much. It is so easy to earn money when you use marketing ideas daily.
