I think there is a huge missing component to this 'marketing strategy' - and that is that all of those 'keys' - in addition to being extremely vague - completely neglect the idea of connecting with potential customers. Instead, those keys are all focusing on what the competition is doing.
Big Mistake. Though I wouuld advise keeping an eye on the competition - I wouldn't call making decisions based on my competition a 'key to marketing'. Instead, I would suggest focusing more on 'How can I reach, connect with, and surprise my target market?' Is the goal to outperform the competition or connect with customers? I think a big reason why microsoft is faltering right now is becaue they are putting too much emphasis on the competition and not enough on just looking forward and leading. And I talk about that on the site. Lead. BV |

See, this is what I don't understand:
To me that is predominantly advertising where as marketing deals (at least in my mind) not only with the promotion of the product but the design of the experience consumers have whilst consuming your product and also the distribution systems your using to bring it to market. Not only that but the price and not just how much it costs but how one might measure a unit of cost when your selling it. Where are you based and do you have a different definition of marketing? Just interested. |
