I've been looking into live help solutions to add to my website. I found a free service that is provided by www.boldchat.com. Its a great way for visitors to connect to a real person.

I'm currently testing this product and I'm still looking for other versions that may be better. I'd be interested if anyone has had any experience with this type of product and could offer any advice.

Thanks

Dean Deacon

If you would like to help me test it, and in the process see it in action, you can go to our test page www.redcog.net/livehelp.htm

I'll have a look later

One point, can you add your signature into your signature file rather than key directly into your message - thanks

PHP Live! is one I use on my web site. Have a read up on the system. You can have the 'WinApp' too and run it from your computer(s) in your office/ home.

You can set it up to track your affiliate links too, I use it to track inbound links from AdWords and suchlike.

3.37am? That's dedication!

Thanks for the post, looks like a good product. Only problem is that we don't have a PHP capable server, and I don't want to pay the monthly subscription. We're looking into hosting plans at the moment.

If anyone knows a reliable hosting company - don't need anything heavy, just something that will host the live help software.

Two things:

1: With live help you can never really display "offline" - Someone needs to be at the other end all of the time. When I tested boldchat it automatically logged me out after about 10 minutes - maybe I need to set up something differently ?

2: Sonnethosting has cpanel, php etc etc - I have another site hosted for £10 per year - very helpful, no downtime that I have seen so far ..

Sounds strange. I've had no problem with it at all. Its far easier if you download the .net add in, as that places the popup tools into your system tray, and alerts you to a new visitor.

You can login or out as you need to - if you logout, the page just states that there are no operators available at this time.

We're going to host a live help tool soon, but in the meantime it seems to do the trick.

Thanks - I'll look into sonnethosting.

Hi.
I use HumanClick on my website.
When I'm online I can answer questions via chat with any one on the site.
Best of all, it's free. Well, they also have an upgrade version. But, I haven't needed that.

If I can talk to the visitors it always helps the chance that they will make a purchase.

Good luck.

Have you secured any sales using the livehelp software?
