Logo: Important or Not!

I was just wondering what people think about logos and if it is important for a new business to have one? Will it make a difference to your company? Are they a waste of money? Name or logo?

It depends on what you do as in my business the branding is less important than in other businesses so I don't bother.

It's not necessary in all cases but I'd say it is in most. It depends on your market. What's your field of work, Brandorama?

A logo is part of the positioning you've choosen for your bussiness, It effects the client's mind. I think that a logo is important and shouldn't be missed.

Hi there,
What I would think is that if you intend the physical evidence of your business to be a part of your marketing strategy than it is very important.

I have recently graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in international marketing. I have been applying for jobs in the fields of branding, marketing and design. I had an internship over the summer with a designand branding company called Threerooms. Lets hope a job is on the horizon.
