A new marketing strategy - 11-06-2005, 08:10 AM

Hello folks,

I've just started a thread running under geneal business about my asbestos surveying. In short my pitch to new prospective clients leads to very little new business, whereas it should be ringing bells in people's minds that they have a legal duty to have an asbestos register complied, and here's a guy who will do it - cheaply, and independantly of any removal company trying to scare people into that course of action.

In the other section I'm asking why people who should be having a survey are not doing so. Hopefully that will give the marketing experts who post here some clues as to my marketplace and the problem breaking into it.

What I need help with is developing a strategy to break down whatever reluctance they have about having a survey done, so that my services have a greater appeal. Oddly when I've done a survey the clents are very happy with the paperwork and reports they get, as it satisfies all their legal responsibilities, and also how cheap it was compared to their expectations. If only I could get that message across, but few want to be references as they don't want people enquiring if their premises actually did contain asbestos!

Hope you can help.

networking evenings and as above
advertise in business magazines/papers
direct mail with the legislation on the flyer, your services and contact number with say "no obligation to ...." so that they can make an appointment.
Contact every company/business premises one by one to make an appointment per area?
