Question Potential Sale to large organisation - how to approach? - 29-07-2008, 04:43 PM

I have designed a banking system for use within the savings accounts and current account space. Recently, I wrote off some very simple letters addressed to the marketing directors of the major high street banks, essentially expressing my desire for a meeting and a chance to introduce my service. My service can increase dramatically the subscription of current account and savings account customers for retail banks. I received back a letter from the personal assistant to the director of current accounts for one of the banks outlining how important it is to get more customers, and she has asked for more information on my idea, in order that she may/may not pass it on to the director. The director is currently on holiday.

I very much assume that the personal assistant is the gate-keeper at the moment, and I need to produce something that is concise, yet informative, and juicy enough that she would pass on the information to the director upon his return from holiday.

My question is - what form should this information take? It will have to be printed as I was not provided an email address, therefore powerpoint seems to be off the cards. A very brief Word document, no more than two pages describing how the service can benefit the bank? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I am not an expert in marketing, but the big financial institutions are set up in small little departments. They are usually not concerned with stuff that does not effect their particular department. Their marketing department is not going to be concerned with the new system as this is going to be of no use to them. You need may be their operations department, IT or finance people to look at your product to see how it could assist them operationally and financially.
With regards to the contents and the method of contact, I am sure someone in marketing on here will be able to advise you what works and what does not.
