PPC or straight Ads - 09-04-2008, 12:12 AM

I have tried PPC in the past, alone and shamed now - completely wrong. I had no idea what I was doing and it ended up wasting more time trying to figure it out on my own. My other option was using a service that would place ads on search engines for me. My company isn't that big but we keep a steady flow, but right after the Dec. holiday, we slow down (as less are purchased then since they are mostly done before Dec. for Christmas).

What I ended up doing was using a company online called Dojo Hut that will take do an ad on a search place for me so I don't have to full with anything. I did not have the chance to get my start up before Jan but so far compared to last years visits its turned out pretty nice for us here. Has anyone else done something similar?

What makes you say that it was completely wrong? Lot's of people manage their own PPC campaigns well enough to satisfy their needs.
FWIW I like the option of straight ads too, I think that everyone should advertise - at least in their local community.

I was stating that it was completely wrong - for me, not specific to others. Though when researching I tend to see very few that can work a PPC, manage it for their own sites and get a good return from it. For me it was wrong, maybe not for you or others but for me yes. I guess I should have worded that better, sorry been a long week - is it Friday yet?

It's the same as most other aspects of marketing. You won't be able to do it very well unless you learn how to do it. Otherwise hire a professional.
