Sales leads???

Hi everyone

We are looking at increasing our presence by using sales leads companies that provide information on new companies, expanding, etc. We are an IT company servicing most sizes of companies with communications and networking solutions, so our market is very broad.

First question is has anyone else used this type of sales to any real success?

Second question is can anyone recommend companies that provide these services, as most companies offering leads are actually offering to do the sales calls them selves, which we cant afford, nor want.

Thirdly, we are familiar with cold calling new prospects from industry avenues as new clients and offeing our services. However leads are different to my understanding as you know that this company has a requrement for your service. Therefore how should these calls be handled without spooking the contact with the fact you have information on them?

be wary of buying 'sales leads' the companies selling them generally care only about the leads as a numbers game, they will often tell you haw great they are and qualified they are before you buy them - try asking the same question once you have handed over you money.

Far better to get someone internal to canvass on the phones etc to create your own, QUALIFIED leads.

I seem to recall that thomsons offered a service of listing all the new entries on a monthly basis. may be worth a call.
