Yes - definitely - it looks more professional, plus you'll build brand awareness. Go for something simple, and eyecatching. Some of those vans you see flying around that are covered in silly pictures and too much writing look terrible.

sign writing works
however make sure that they do a full wrap on the van as the marks left by the lettering when they take it off will be there for the life of the van, and will seriously reduce the resale price of the van
by doing a full wrap the paint all over will be spotless when the vinal is removed and make sure you get best price for the van when you come to sell it

Thanks for this Stuart, I am having my logos removed from 3 vans, to have my new company ones put on. Is there anything I can do to make them look better if the logo is still showing through?

Birmingham - i don't know if it's the same for all vans, but my signs were made first then stuck on the vans. I don't know how they go about sticking them on, and I'm not sure whether some are done with real paint or not. I can imagine that paint would be a real pain to get off.
If I can't get them off properly without the logos showing through, I suppose I'll have to get them resprayed, but that would be a last resort.

I think adversting your business on a vehicle that will be seen by lots of people is too good an opportunity to miss. As long as it is clean, well driven and the message is short but explains what you do - I see so many with just a number or web address and sit wondering 'what do they do?'. It is very cost effective.

Hi,
My Vans are a walking advert for my businesses. I have business card and brochure holders attached to the sides saying "Take One" I guarantee that each of my Vans. not only pays for itself each year from the advert but probably the drivers wages as well.
Don’t get a fancy sign writer to design a work of art it wont pay the bills.
Fill the available space on the van with offers for the reader, remember WIIFM (what’s in it for me). Us a graphic artist that will design the look of your sign writing on a van graphic. Mine do it for me. I see a photo of a van with my sign writing before I go ahead.
Of course do it with design in mind but use the ad space. Why do you think some companies with pay you to drive your van around with THEIR ad's on it.
It pays handsomely.

I was going to post asking the same thing, but it seems I've got my answer about advertising/sign writing on a van.
Do you think the my company logo from www.baizeltd.com would work but without the Pool and Snooker Suppliers bit on it, and just have the logo, contact number, e-mail and website address.
Or would I need more on it?

Justin - whilst not cluttering van - you want to have in pretty large letters exactly what you do - pool and snooker supplies, as well as you're logo, telephone number, web address and email.
As promised, I said I would post how my vans came out after having the old logos removed and the new ones put on. They're great, and you can't tell they ever had the old logo on. But, I would advise getting them removed by the company who are putting the new ones on. We tried to remove the first ourselves - it took an age and still wasn't complete. They did the next one and only charged £60.

Catherine, do you think I should change the style of the Pool and Snooker bit on my site so it looks better on the van.
Does the Baize Ltd logo look ok though?
Do you have any pictures of your vans?
