Question Sign Writing on Vans - is it worth it?? - 04-12-2006, 01:07 PM

Just wondered what the general consensus is for sign writing on Vans.....do you think its worth while paying to put your logo on the company van - do people really look at them????

I'd definately say it's worth it. Only this morning I was using one of my children's coloured pencls to scribble down the phone number of those people who come and put up curtains. Their van was in front of me at the queue for the roundabout and it just so happens that our curtains need rehanging.

We've also had our carpets cleaned by a guy whose sign written van my husband saw.

Regards

I think it also makes the company look professional - especially if the design is quite good - making the vehicle more eye-catching.

Yep, I think its a good way to advertise.
Tho once I saw a non descript vehicle which just had a name and number on it, goodness knows what they were advertising.
Make sure its clear what you are advertising.

By having good signwriting and a strong message you are actually building awareness and your brand!

Its worth having a slightly humorous strapline on the back doors - with contact details as this is what people sit behind most!

(one of the best strap lines I have seen was a co that supplies traffic cones- they had "Jam makers since.....")

I also think its well worht it, even more if you find a cheap quote.

Its great advertising, and it also create a corporate image; makes you look more professional. For example, my dad has his own restoration and building services company and he sub-contracts to multi-million organisations. By having his logo, company name, slogan and contact details on letterheads, business cards, banners and things like the vans, it creates a much more professional image, especially if you are aiming to attract much larger businesses, and you are offering a B2B service.

If the slogan is catchy, then it will attract people, obviously. I mean, everythime you see an Ocado Van, you sing the Ocado song, even thought it's SO anoying...
