Hi all just after a bit of advice, as some of you will know i am setting up my own clothing company, but like everything money is always short, so any way of bringing money in i will attempt(well within reason and the law) well at the moment my company only has a holding page which at the moment is enough to create an interest but i was thinking of maybe earning money by say using sms in some shape or form, so say people see my website advertised on the back of my car then also they can txt a number to find information. What do you thing and does anybody have any ideas of which company to use? Thanks

The type of thing you are talking about is premium rate messaging - the volume of incoming texts needed to make this viable is high, on average the monthly fee for renting a premium rate number is in excess of £800 which means that you would need in excess of 10,000 responses a month just to break even.

Have to agree with the above. You need a massive response rate to make premium rate SMS pay if you go down an individual shortcode route.

One of the best ways to do it though to get that response rate is to offer a free mobile game or ringtone or simliar for entering.

I use the guys for our SMS Marketing as they are the cheapest in the UK but work with pretty big companies and they offer all the free gifts elements too.
