Which tagline? - 09-03-2005, 04:22 PM

Hi,

I'm trying to come up with a tagline for a car rental company. USP is cheap cars. I'd come up with these:

Saving you money. Spicing up your tour.
Save your money. Savor your tour.
Saving you money. Seasoning your tour.
Saving you money. Serving your tour.

What do you say,

Samia

I would say "cheap cars" is not a USP

Do you get a 25 year old 200k mileage car -- that's cheap

Or do you mean value for money in that you get a less than 6 month car for less than Hertz

What's the proposition first then we can help with taglines (which you don't necessarily need)

Write one sentence as a reply of what the offer and benefit is to (say) me -- you'll get a tagline from that I am sure

Sorry, I meant value for money, low prices.

Not sure about the word tour, this implies it is for holidays only, or is this the focus i.e. an add on to a holiday package.

Saving you money also does not work for us either.

What about quality car rental services at budget prices as a starting point and if you explain more about your business we can refine it further

Samia,

Am I right in thinking you are from America? If so, you got to understand that even though we speak the same language both in UK and USA, there are subtle differences . e.g. "tour"

OK, here is my 2 cents worth:

Quality Car | Cheap Rates | Happier Travels.

or

Lightening the cost of your tour.

The first one tells the people about quality (i-e it is not a 'rent a wreck'), cheap price (your USP) and the effect of choosing your company. i-e happiness

Hope it helps,

Joel
