Hi Andy,

Would this be targeted to businesses or end consumers?

You could send them an email but it's likely to end up in the junk folder.

You don't have an easy task ahead of you and subscription based websites are notoriously difficult to market as people will want to see the content before they sign up. You need something really special that is different to every single other website and you need an incentive for then to join. If it really is that good then why not write an article and submit it to the construction magazines?

I would recommend a telemarketing campaign (if you've not tried it already) to give you the opportunity to meet with prospective clients and also get some valuable market feedback.

I would also suggest that you consider providing "free" evaluation periods to these prospects so that they can try the site out for a short period where after they become paid subscribers. *Two birds - one stone*

Cheers,

Hi, unless you've got some really unique and valuable content of features you can offer the construction industry, its very hard to get a membership/subscription based site off the ground.

You could argue its better to give away your content for free (although make people register for full access perhaps), get lots of traffic, then monetise this traffic through other revenue generating methods such as Adsense, affiliates or sponsorship.

As already suggested Telemarketing is always more effective to promote a new business. However, it requires a good budget.

You can try promoting your business through listing your business on local search engines, business directories and review portals (using testimonials of some of your clients).

Hi Andy,

Most new businesses use promotional products to promote their new business like pens, keyrings, mugs or clothing etc. - this can prove effective as you can include your new business name, logo and contact number on and give them out to contacts like clients and customers.

This can prove effective as your logo and business name will be seen.

What have you considered to advertise and market your new business so far??
