A test...

Hey everyone,

I'm a fairly new marketing executive. However, I have an opportunity to do some contracting work but they want to test me first - as you would. So they have given me a brief about a new product they have and want me to come up with some ideas. The company is a small IT support firm and the product is obviously technical. So far, I have a PDF newsletter to send out by email to new and existing customers. To go with that I need to make a page on the website to link to, which has more detail on it. Have you got any other ideas?

Do you have any other ideas yourself first?

If you don't then I would avoid biting off more than you can chew if you're going into contracting work. If you use knowledge and expertise from an outer source then you're effectively 'cheating' the test. Therefore when it comes to taking on the major work, you might not live up to expectations.

As an executive I'd expect you to have a lot of marketing experience. You must have a whole portfolio of marketing projects, can't you rehash some of them?

I can think of half a dozen marketing ideas that you could use but as Scott suggests, this is your test so asking for ideas is cheating a bit.
