What about ads in shops - 11-05-2004, 04:46 PM

I remember years ago I was working for this flowershop and we decided to do a 15% discount for Fridays (in time for the weekend of course)

We printed up loads of leaflets with this discount message on it and physically took them around all the other shops in the village - it really worked out well and hardly cost anything at all.

Yes it is a very good idea. We have done it with a couple of local shops and provided them with 12 months sponsorship on club sites in their area. This has already paid dividends with enquiries leading to summer appointments, and we haven't even launched yet!

Growth in the first 24 months is key for us and this is a simple yet cost effective way to advertise and get brand awareness.

Yes, we have done the same.

It was hard for us starting out so we had to chose a few low cost marketing plans.

We just blitzed the local area and the take-up was good.

I think if you go in and introduce yourselves, the other owners know what position you are in so understand the need for advertising.

It worked for us

We have the same ethos to advertising, the most likely customers are the ones that share your local shops, and this is truer for local service providers and small business than nationals and corporations. Our company tries to introduce local services through a network of local shops.

With thanks
