Exclamation Who’s Keeping an Eye On Pixel Advertising - 25-10-2005, 04:23 PM

Hi one n all

How's your week so far any thing exciting happening?

I read this a week ago and thought my buddies and
myself had better take some action and get cracking
into PIXEL advertising .. this is what it looks like just
incase you aint got a clue what I'm on
about:~ you might wanna pm me

So waddeeyah think of PIXEL Advertising

Do you agree with the statement below ..
I'm really interested in the what's why's and
BENEFITS ... any one got any knowledge
on this new Pixel Advertising

Who’s Keeping an Eye On Pixel Site Traffic

Right now, traffic from sites selling advertising space by way
of selling blocks of pixels is one of the hottest things going on
the internet. If you are an advertiser looking for new ways to
get your product in front of people, ignoring these pixels sites
would be a mistake. Many of these sites on the internet are
offering pixels for as little as a penny a pixel.

This is as inexpensive as advertising gets.

If site ownership is your business, then isn't that the point. If there are players out there who want to part with their money in this way, someone is going to take it off them! Pixel ads seem to tap into this.

Hi one & all ... yes I agree with you both Phil & Phil

.. looking like this thread is running on Phillips

.. My reason for this post is to try and find out the purpose
of the pixels advertising format ... what I'm thinking is the power
of the search positioning?? with so much jammed on a single page once
full .. it would make the search spiders go nuts .. and then ... would this
be a benefit to all who invested .. that my friends is the point I think

I will be seeking the answer to; ... could this
be a way to get a good google ranking with out all
the fuss as this is the result of how pixels

It's a fad. It'll pass as quickly as it got boring...

If you see no value in making money from your website, then you would be right.
However if you thought it important to maximise your earnings, then you would be wrong.
As with the greatest restaurants 'bums on seats' pay the bills.
Not partaking in this is missing out....big time.

I don't get it. I really just don't get it. Ok, we've all seen the bloke behind the Million Dollar Homepage, very gimmicky, very well exploited to make him a shedload of cash. But where is the value? I can't see the point in having a link jammed onto one page with thousands of others?

The only possible benefit I can see is in terms of search engine optimisation: links to your site are good, so here's a cheap way of getting one. And if the page linking to you is highly ranked, then it reflects well on you too.

So perhaps good from that point of view, if the outlay is small. But - if I'm right - only in the short term. In a few months down the line, when there are thousands of "million dollar homepages", all linking to each other, then Google et al will take steps to keep their search results accurate.

It's not targeted, it's not high visibility ... I really don't get it.

Though of course secretly I do wish I'd thought of the idea first. A million dollars would've been nice for a couple of months' work

I still can't understand why traffic is so hi, and I agree traffic is not really targetted. I wanted to get in on the pixl craze but wanted to tag the advert with some kind of emotio. I setup a map and sell countries in auctions. Not sure how it will do yet, but I think there is quite a lot of potential from this medium - puts the fun back in to it.

When I first came across Pixel advertising I thought - why would anyone want to spend good money on that!
BUT I'm open minded and I find my business really exciting so I'll give it a go. I'll do some more research and keep you posted.

I wanted to get in on the pixel fad but wanted to develop it. I came up wih [url]http://www.buythemap.com[url] Not to sure what category I fall in to I think my site is an evolutionary step - It gives people a reason to come back - who has won what country and how much are they going for in auctions...and its fun
