I'm not sure I agree that uniforms will do the tricks we are after.....

Who is using this method to effect at the moment ?

Hi and thank you for the welcome.

As I mentioned in my post uniforms can be used to promote your business name, when in contact with customers/public people will see your logo and your company name becomes familiar with them at the end of the day you have to wear clothes why not publicise you own company rather than someone else’s.

Lets face it the majority of small businesses offer great services/products, the problem a lot of us have is getting people to hear of us and lets face it when looking for a product or service and you come across two or more companies who do you contact first - normally the one you have heard of, purchasing a uniform and putting your logo and number on it is a lot cheaper than placing an advert.

A number of different companies can benefit from having a uniform and I am not in anyway suggesting that it is suitable for every company, as a business person it is your job to work out if wearing a uniform is going to benefit you, for example if you are in an office all day and have no physical contact with your customers then there is not much point wearing a uniform with your Logo, services and or phone number listed as no one will see it.

To be totally honest with you, you are the first person I have spoke to that has not seen the point of a uniform advertising their company, perhaps this is because you see no benefits for your particular company, I would be very interested in hear your opinions on this perhaps there are others with this point of view and there may be something I can do to show there is, or at least know that people in your particular field will not be interested in a uniform and know that any marketing campaigns would be wasted in that field.

Numerous different companies use embroidered uniforms, private hire, Computer Engineers, Network Engineers, Plumber, Electricians, Race Teams, Clubs, Pubs, Mobile DJ's, Aerial Repair and Installers, Couriers and cleaners. As you can see most of these companies are actually offering services and visit sites, however we also get companies that have there staff wear uniforms in the office because they don’t want there staff wearing Shirt and Ties anymore but don’t want there staff turning up in any old clothes so wearing a polo shirt with their company logo looses the formal wear but still comes across as professional if anyone visits the office.

As mentioned above I would be interested in hearing you thoughts, as these could be very beneficial in promoting my company in the future.

My company currently uses uniforms, but we have noticied that the polo shirts we have used in the past (with our current supplier) seem of be of low quality, and fade very quickly.

Hi Michael,

Your area of business is crying out for a brochure site. Perhaps with multiple product views or dynamic "preview" functionality. Have you had any quotations for this? If you do have a website, you need to be shouting about it on this forum.

Incidentally we are likely to be looking for simple uniforms for a small number of staff, we also produce and host websites and ebusiness systems. Perhaps we could assist each other.
