Arrow About Backlink Anchor Text Analysis - 04-01-2008, 08:19 PM

It is not enough just to have a lot of backlinks, it is the quality of backlinks along with thequality that help you rank better in search engines.

I take it that the original poster is referring to having links from pages with good PR and links from sites with similar (relevant) content?

Or is it to do with the quality of the anchor text? Not sure as the title and the post don't appear to match.

most seo experts will say qualities is better than quantity. quality does not always refer to page rank, it is a misconception. qualities mean how relevant 2 sites are of their content on that page when linking, rather than page rank.

however when doing linking, make sure you insert the most relevant keywords on your hyper link or anchored text plus used of title tag of a link attribute. it is hard to explain it here since they do not allow me to put a link in this forum yet...

but sure somebody out there can help

In SEO - Quality outweighs quantity!

Keeping your link building targeted will also directly reach you target market.

Just getting backlinks will not help you rather you should look for backlinks from relevant highly traffic sites from where you will get highly targeted traffic which would be have great conversion ratio.

The quality of the link is what matters.
Any link will not be good for SEO.

Hmmm. Have to disagree with this statement. Although web pages within university sites are often of pretty good quality, you don't get extra credence simply for being a university website, they still fall under the same algorythm as the rest of the pages on the internet.

Tips for getting good quality backlinks;

See who's linking to the website ranking in 1st position for your chosen keyword by going to yahoo.com and typing link:www.highrankingwebsite.co.uk into the search bar and then look for links to your own website from similar sites to these. Any links that you do get, make sure you place anchor text with the keyword you wished to be ranked for in it.

Sometimes both the quality and quantity of the links are important. For example, for having good rankings for some of the hot keyterms on the web like SEO, web design, etc, a website needs many quality links.
