anchor text - 20-08-2004, 12:17 PM

you know it's important to have the text you are targeting from other sites pointing your site - right ?

Well just ensure that the text descriptions are mixed up a little

The search engines are looking for "natural linking" so not everyone will link to your site with the exact text you are after

Include your site name, just you site and variations of your keywords

I agree with you Peter - natural linking is key.

Forget forums - go for websites !

I agree as well (atleast as far as mixing up your actual anchor text). I really think it won't be long before google starts to filter links that all have the exact same anchor text.

Mix it up - 27-09-2004, 05:42 PM

I agree you have to mix it up with the anchor text links.

And, I think I'm going to take advantage of the fact that Google doesn't rank singular and plural words the same (yet).

I'm ranked #4 for a certain singular keyword and around #85 for the plural form of the keyword.

So, I think I'm going to start getting anchor text for the plural word.

yeah, this single and plural thing is very discouraging - so yes, you have to get them both as inbound links (unfortunately) or get the inbound link as plural and have singular on your page
