A bit old hat that article, SEO has moved on in the last 4 years and is now a completly different animal.

You need to consider a much more holistic approach. Keyword targetting is no longer important, people use search engines differently, they write phrases, sentances, ask questions. The employ local or personalised search. They use the wrong words or mispell things.

The SEO target is not to get the #1 slot, it's all about getting the SE to index and rank the site as wide and as deep as possible. It's about drawing people into the site and keeping them there.

now a days if you give your site to to a good designing company they take care of all the tags, meta tags and keyword stuff (i mean they always ask the client to provide them)
the most professional who indulge in those so called bad practices include
