Hi Nicky,

Sorry to hear that you have lost money, it appears that6 you have been caught out by one of the many scams run by businesses who claim to get you to the top of the search engine results pages. They all lie. Nobody can guarantee anything, the best you can hope for is a better chance at a decent ranking.

I am assuming that you have a 'myavon' website. Another avon rep asked for help and the advice given to her is the same given to you.

The 'myavon' websites will never, ever do well in the search engine results pages. The main reason being that they are all the same and the search engines will effectively ignore 99% or them. The few that they they do display will only rank for some very precise keywords and even then be swamped by all the other avon sites.

My suggestion is that you stop worrying about your website and concentrate on building up your business. But if you want help fixing the site then why not let us have a look at it and I'm sure you will get lots of advice. You cetainly don't want to spend another penny on the site until you understand a little more about how things work.

Nicky,

Linking from your site to the myavon site won't make a blind bit of difference since google doesn't know nickysavon.co.uk even exists - and because the site uses frames google will never know you exist.

Building a site that 1, google will be interested in and 2, people will want to visit takes a lot of time and effort. But because of the size of the competition the chances of you doing well for anything connected to avon are almost nil.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but you would be far better off building up your avon business using the traditional methods rather than via a websites.

But do not pay for a myavon site - they are a complete waste of money.

And, those auto-submission might potentially rejected by some of the Search Engine?

Thanks you very much.
There are people who have built scripts that do this and allow you to use it for a very small fee. I suggest finding these as they work and are trust worthy.

They may work but they won't help improve your ranking. They are therefore not worth the money from an SEO point of view. If however you are generating more traffic from these directory links then it 'might' be worth investing a few pounds. But it's not something I would ever reccommend.

I have to agree with the majority here - free submissions don't work. you are far better of putting your time and effort into building links with other sites and setting up a blog.
