Getting noticed help please

hi and welcome,I have a small site with forum and new i have put it in google for indexing in but wondered how long it takes and how to check to see if all is well...or any other place i can get good hits.

You could do with paying more attention to the page description as whilst the page title is OK the description is not optimised to best advantage as Google is picking up "Register Now • Private Messages • Search Panic attack • FAQ • Memberlist • Links • Contact · You have no new messages ..." which are not terms that people will use to search you out with the exception of "panic attack" which should be at the beginning of the description anyway and not in the middle.
