Jim, I am respectfully disagree with you, not all blogs are good in terms of linking purposes because there is a tag called "nofollow" which happens to most wordpress blogs these days automatically on comment area. Being "nofollow" that is no Google page rank pass thus not much "link juice" to affect your site search ranking.
