Link Exchanging And The Matter Of PR - 06-12-2007, 08:53 AM

Hi,

Is it true that Google will be decreasing the PR of the websites, or the web pages specially that are engaged in exchanging links with other webmasters?

I have experienced this unfortunately, as the links pages have just lost PR that were PR4 a couple of months ago.

Any ideas and details are appreciated.

I believe that the PR of sites and/ or pages that *sold* links were reduced/ put to zero - so that link juice won't flow out to your site and hey presto, your PR is reduced.

But if your search rankings have not changed, who cares ?

Stop runing for PR just getting good quality links for promoting your website, I still believe link exchange is one of the best way to getting back links and ranking on SERPS

Err, no. The best way to improve ranking is to provide quality content and have sites link to you.

The search engines are very savvy and can detect link exchanges. They will ignore them - worse still they may even reduce the crawl rate and even drop some pages out of the index.

Here's the reason why
