.. for the keyword "targeted backlinks"! I'm just elated seeing a lot of hard work paying off

Our directory used to be #1 for "targeted link backs" but had second thoughts and instead wanted to rank number 1 on the other keyword which is more likely to be searched.

This proves that forum participation have value in SERP. I was able to attain this by varying title posts, experimenting on how forum posts affect rankings. Seeing some good results, I am now excited to try out major keywords in our niche.

Also ranking 2th on Yahoo for the same keyword

Was experimenting for a while on other forums that I participate in to see how forum posts affect SERP. Before we were ranking for "targeted link backs" as some of the post I made have that phrase on the title (posts mostly on marketplace sections). I wanted to see the co-relation of these posts on the rankings we had for that particular keyphrase. I tried replacing the titles of these posts with the keyphrase "targeted backlinks" after a month (again in the apt section of these forums - marketplace or buy & sell section). Surely after this I saw some results. We are ranking high for that keyword that we never ranked for before.

I know that the keyword I vied for is not a major one for our niche. Anyways it was just a test run. Hope others would benefit from this little experiment I did

Just one reminder though, don't spam the forums, lols.

As I mentioned this was just an experiment, no onpage factor was changed for this But we'll surely do once we target some major keywords to rank for. Aside from that keyword, our directory managed to rank well for "auction link directory" - keyword which we did some onpage optimization for.

FWIW: you could just buy targetedbacklinks.co.uk (£2.50) and you would rank number1 in a few days with no effort - work smart not hard wherever possible.
