Thumbs up Re: Placement of keywords (please help) - 31-07-2008, 09:28 PM

wow, thanks everybody for your replies - some very helpful tips here i must say. I've put my site out there, submitted it to google - now I can sit back and do extensive research on how to improve things - increasing potential conversion rate, getting my site indexed sooner etc.

again, thanks a lot folks

There are few things you must consider first :-

a) Your target keyword "Learn how to play violin" is not a competitive one, therefore your chances of scoring high rankings are pretty high

b) Search engines do not like artificial manipulation of their ranking technology.

c) Never concentrate on your TARGETED keyword alone. Always produce wide range of keywords related to your targeted keyword.

d) Make sure that your TITLE has "Learn how to play violin"

e) Your description is also important, but keyword tag is often ignored by Google ( still no concrete proof). Keyword tag is still supported by Yahoo.

f) If you are pretty serious about this particular keyword, then FEED PLENTY OF CONTENT to Google/Yahoo. Add more and more useful information ( no duplicate content) on regular basis ( 1/2 weeks) related to violin, and add some of your useful links on bookmarking sites.

All these combined activities will help you gain higher rankings for your targeted keywords. Rather than concentrating on the keyword density you must concentrate on the produce useful content related to your targeted keyword. This will help you gain higher rankings on search engines within shortest span.

One thing to keep in mind is that your content should not be overstuffed by keywords as in that case Google could penalize your website.

You may have shot yourself in the foot. A new site with 1000 inbound links will raise a few eyebrows as it is clear these links only exist in order to boost your ranking. It's not the number of links it's the quality of those links but more importantly it's the relevance of the webpage to the search prameters thar counts.

Effective Web Design - It's not that difficult if you follow the rules.
