Quality deep links – paid directories -
16-03-2007, 02:30 PM
hi everybody
my name is rourkey. I recently paid 25 dollars to submit to a directory, i put in what seemed like 6 quality deep links with various keywords to the relevant pages. Does anyone think its worth paying for these links as against just submitting to free directories and just getting a link to the home page. would appreciate any feedback Rourkey |

Deep linking with definately help you.
What I recommend is to develop a balance (or better stated: budget) on your promotional activities like this...do all forms of submitting to help out. For every 10 sites you do a free link, get a paid one for the 11th. directory. Keep it within your budget! |

Yes I'm agree with you guys. But according to me you should start first free directory submission and other thing which we are using when your site will cash and starting to get ranking on SERPS then you think about PPC I know that most of the people are using PPC when they have new site but if your are listing down on the SERPS then Paid links are really help for boost of your site ranking, but make sure when you are choosing directory for paid linking then it should be ranking on SERPS and popular also. Its my opinion

You generally get what you pay for, or not in some cases. Some free directories probably aren't worth the time - generally thouse that auto accept and will list anyone.
Other free directories - such as DMOZ can provide a good quality link. Don't fall in the traf of thinking all paid directories are worth paying for though, you have to weigh up the cost against the potential benefit of the link. The Yahoo directory for example gives a great link, but at $300 p/a I believe that the money can be better spent elsewhere. |

After further research on this subject, I am led to believe that submitting sites to just any directory would provide a quality inbound link. Surely, directories must be divided into trade areas (like yellow pages) - are they not? If so then if I am a mobile phone supplier I would have an inbound link from that section of the directory, and the same goes for if I am a clothing manufacturer or a holiday company. In the material I read I have never heard of a "no-good inbound link" from a directory (free or not).
Furthermore, directories should be open to everyone should they not? - unless we are talking about "gateways" of course. So really, I am getting a little confused with some of the info above... ![]() |

I'd just like to chip in with something here (for any SEO newbies who maybe reading this)...
If you are worried that you are being linked to by a "bad" directory or website then don't... Google have stated many times in the past that an inbound link CANNOT harm your ranking. Sure there are good links and not-so-good links but not BAD ones. If search engines were to allow links to a website to drop it in the SERPS then they would open up a whole hornets nest of people adding their competitors website's to these dubious website's and directories just for the purpose of gaining an advantage. There are lots of discussions on the internet about "the best" directories - try searching Google for "best free directories" etc... Bare in mind though that you will need to add your website to lots of these directories to make a difference, sure adding to just a few will get your site noticed and eventually crawled but the more you add to the more frequent the spider visits ![]() Feel free to contact me with any website issues. |
