28-08-2008, 01:53 PM
The link page having Rich content having good keywords and having page rank are consider as a quality links but most of the time its not possible that these all features are in link page. And also its time consuming and hard procedure to search these type of page, But these types of links have its own importance. And these type of links gives you a good page rank and serps here is small calculation to explain what I want to say
200 fake links < 10 Quality Links In this example I want to say that 10 quality links gives you a page rank and serps but 200 fake links doesn’t So remember “quality matters not quantity “ |

I hear this question all the time related to search engine optimization... In my opinion, quality is better... But sometimes you don't have access to quality, so quantity also works...
In the end, I usually do both... Go for the broad spread of as many links as possible (using only white hat search engine optimization). But also pursue those high quality, authoritative sites that are extremely relevant to your sites business... That's how I go at it... |

Fake link means the link which doesn't have any pagerank or also not good quality contain. And without all you are linking with it for only increasing your link. that what i call fake link .

Quality is more important because in the end consumer will search for a quality product. If product has a great quality, market will always look for your product. Then there comes the quantity. If you already build a good reputation with quality product, quantity will be the next thing to consider.

For me, I think relevancy is the most important thing to consider since search engines give more weigh on this. So in getting backlinks, it's necessary that our link is placed in a site that is related to our niche and has great content.
It's really useless that you have more backlinks and yet they are not relevant and related to your site. |

In my experience you need a mix of both to ensure that the link profile of your website is natural. No website, not even Google will have all super high qualified, thematic incoming links - even they have lower end links. It is the profile that is important so get some low quality PR related links from as much as possible thematic websites and then top this up with high quality links. Recipricol linking is pretty much dead in the old format, where as the new way is through hosted pages. Contact potential link partners and ask them to place a high quality piece of content on their website with a subtle link back in the content back to your site. You do the same for them. Following this I would then post a few quality articles directing the links to the new hosted pages thus increasing the value of these and in return increasing the value of your own site.
Having said this it is paramount that a user searching for 'running shoes' does end up on a page all about running shoes and not about flowers - this is common sense. A good way that I have found works is to create a raft of entry pages to your website which target different product sectors and make them feel like a homepage and then target these to the search engines rather than trying to make your homepage do all the work for you from an asthetical point of view. hope this helps. |

Quality is much more important. Best links are those from high page rank sites with few other links.
