Does the order order a search term is entered and how a page is optimised have any effect with google results.
e.g If I optimise a page for Suffolk Wedding Photography and someone does a google search on wedding photography suffolk would be disadvantaged behind those who the the words in that order ? If so is the best approach to build 2 pages optimed to each varient ?

Tim, write for the humans

When you write naturally and then insert keywords where appropriate (still keeping the text readable), you'll be fine.

When writing naturally, you simply use many word combinations, variations (derivatives), all kinds of related phrases that no SEO will ever learn from tools. Just use keyphrases, related and using words from the 'suffolk wedding photography' keyphrase and you'll be fine.

I would write at least two pages, also one for wedding photographer suffolk and suffolk wedding photographer. Becuase I wouldn't look for wedding photography in a search, I would search for a photographer, if I wanted to find someone to take photos of my wedding.

It can't hurt, and I'm sure you have enough content too fill four pages with different content, if you are actually a wedding photographer, you must have heaps of stories you could tell, or warnings you could give about relying on friends with digiatal cameras to take the photos. Show the difference between wedding photography and wedding snapshots.

i would search for wedding photographer, just so that I wouldnt end up with someone who normally takes pictures of dogs and cats.

people are now more search 'savvy' and would put in what they are looking for in relation to locality and expertise required.

Hi Again Tim.

I just realised I didn't actually answer your question, yes the order of world, especially in the page title tags does make a difference the the results in google.

One of the best things to do, and a day well spent, is going to google, and doing search after search for different things, just to see how google works how pagerank counts etc etc.

The other thing you could do, is when trading links with other wedding photographers, make the linking text is relevant keywords, rather than your url. Unless your website name is SuffolkWeddingPhotographer.whatever, but if it isn't use those keywords as the txt that shows on the links page. EG.
Suffolk Wedding Photographer

Remember the true story that if you search for miserable failure in google that George Bush' biography shows at #1 because a large group of bloggers decided to try out this text in links thoery, and all added the text miserable failure with the whitehouse biography as the link.

It goes without saying that this page wasn't optimised for, or has these words in it at all.

Hi Again Time.

I see you have also used good keyworded text links to places within your website, I believe that is also another trick, to link to actual pages within your website, rather than your front page.

If someone was linking to your website becuase of it's great content, like search engines want other website to do, they would most likely to link to a specific page, rather than just to your website, as I have said, this is theory I have, which I haven't provided, yet, but it makes sense to me.

Hi Tim, sorry, I see this thread is a couple of months old, the answer to your question is YES, it does make a difference in which order someone searches for your keywords as well as optimising for the exact words.

Your chance of most success is to (as mention above) do some reseach and lateral thinking to decide exactly what someone will type into a search engine.
Funnily enough people often attach certain words like FIND to their search. This can make it really easy to rank at no1

"Find a wedding photographer in Suffolk"

so you optimise a page for the words in bold.

regards
James.

it does matter, and the exact order match has more weight, but it doesn't matter much. rather than dividing ur pagerank power between two similar pages, might as well combine ur resources to make one long page and just make sure it has loaaads of the right keywords in all different orders.

good luck!

the suggestion of putting your whole site on one page is one i dont think is a great one, you would be missing out on basic site structure that is needed.

there is another forum where there is a thread about the possibilites of a one page site that raises a few considerations
