ok I am a bit confused, google has ranked all the pages on my site, but when I did a search on google to see my backlinks to those pages and there's nothing there. I've used Google aswell as different web sites and standalone software but nothing shows up.

If I do a search for backlinks on YAHOO or MSN, it gives a list of backlinks for the site.

I check the ranking of each one of my pages daily and they do move up and down so I know the spiders are crawling my site every day and this shows up on my web stats aswell

Can anybody help, do you think there is a problem with my site or URL.

How did you check your backlinks on google?use "link:domain.com" on google or use the google webmaster tool, the first way is not well, and in my opinion,if you want to see your backlinks, you should check it on yahoo.

.

Thanks for the help Jason. I was checking for backlinks in google by link:domain.com as you have stated. On Yahoo it shows that one page has 16 external backlinks to different sites.

I am worried cause I want to make sure that google ranks my site well and if there is anything wrong I would like it fixed.

They are called inbound links not backlinks.

The google link:domain tool is broken and has been for years. Try using the yahoo site explorer.

If your page is going up and down then I suspect you as causing the problem yourself. Leave it alone to settle.

BTW, your user name is easyseo, is this a reflection on your profession?

Backlinks are inbound links!!!

Anyway google does not show all the backlinks in the link:domain command
I have a website with about 3000 do follow backlinks. Google only shows about 30 of these at any one time

If you get yourself a google webmaster tools account [its free] it will show you all the links google credits to your pages

You could also run a linkscape report on seomoz to see how many links they're showing, although this tool may not help if the site is relatively new.

You can use Yahoo Site Explorer to find backlinks. Google is just hiding traces of SEO so that other business owner do not start following same strategies.
