hmrc self assessment website crashes -

Today is deadline day to file your self assessement tax return on HMRC's website -- and it's crashed under the load....
"The self assessment online system is temporarily unavailable and we apologise for any inconvenience caused, and are working to restore the service as soon as possible." A note on their website reads: "We are currently aware that some customers may be experiencing problems with this service and are working with our IT service provider to give this our urgent attention. If you are experiencing problems please try again later. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please note this does not affect users of Third Party Software. Why does everyone leave everything to the very last minute. I paid mine ages ago - Monday to be precise and I'm still grieving over the hole in my bank account

UPDATE: HMRC have extended the deadline to file your tax return online this year until midnight February 1st
