I must say I am very excited at the prospect of the games being held in Britain

There’s 7 years to prepare, plenty of time to build the needed infrastructure, no excuses for delays. The whole event will be a major boost to UK businesses. All we've heard about the bid is the legacy it will leave, but it will leave a massive legacy. We're talking about re-generating a massive area of East London and building a huge and desperately needed sports centre.

I'm also very glad we beat the French. Mr Chirac can eat his words regarding our food

He was our secret weapon and I doubt whether we would have won without him on our side. Having said that British food was the worst in the world apart from Finnish food that would have swung the Finnish delegation our way.

i thought about how my business could capitalise on the news but I couldn't really think of anything - I thought i would try and get a few good domain names that might be worth something, but all the good ones had gone a long time ago!
